In honor of this weekend’s Takeover with Christina Henriksen, we’re shining the spotlight on her horse, JTH Zest!
JTH Zest “Esta” is a 9-year-old British Sports Horse (Zambucca x MayHill) mare
Christina bought “Esta” as a lightly started 5 year old from British breeder and friend, Jay Halim while based in England. “She was a very feisty youngster, who showed all the class to be a top-level competitor someday. With a gorgeous, uphill canter and floating trot, she could have headed to the dressage ring. However, her boldness over fences and ability to gallop meant she started her career as an event horse as a 6 year old, and hasn’t looked back since. She has the most amazing ground covering gallop and scope for days. Her natural balance is an incredible thing to feel when you are riding her and she is super clever. She does often have a strong opinion about how things should be, but I’ve learned to channel that energy and use it to my advantage, which has allowed us to rack up many top placings on her way up the levels.”
Being very dark brown with 3 white socks and a white star, Esta has been told her whole life how beautiful she is, and she knows it! Her ground manners are impeccable, as she is the easiest horse to handle on and off the farm. The only time she is a bit of handful is at FEI jogs when she gets very excited to show off and drags me down the job strip! Cuddling and galloping cross country are two of Esta’s favorite things. She’s always looking for attention and loves to be in the spotlight!
Esta is an FEI event horse who has competed very successfully up to the CCI3* level with owner and producer Christina Henriksen. Goals for this year involve a move up to the Advanced level and completing another CCI3-L this fall. Long-term goals involve competing at the 4*/5* level and hopefully a trip back across the pond someday!
Esta loves her Cavalor Fiberforce and Cavalor Endurix mixes. When she is getting for a ready for a long format event, she also gets Strucomix Senior. Christina likes to feed Muscle Force to help Esta’s muscles prepare and recover at the big events and use Cavalor Cooling wash to help those tired muscles feel rejuvenated after working hard.
Christina says “all of my horses look and feel amazing on Cavalor. They have shiny coats, adequate energy and beautiful toplines. It makes me feel good knowing my horses are getting all the nutrients and support they need to compete at the upper levels. I believe in only the best for my horses, hence why I have fed Cavalor since 2011!”
We’re looking forward to Christina taking over Cavalor’s Instagram this weekend and can’t wait to watch her continue to excel with her string!
